Austin YamJam This Sunday (Cancelled)

Unfortunately, this event has been cancelled.

Created by Austin technology veterans, Operation Turkey provides thousands of home cooked meals to the homeless on Thanksgiving day. One of the events that generates funds for that is the Yam Jam, an incredible day of music coming up this Sunday, October 26th at Simphony Square.

Here is the lineup for this year.

  • Castellanos Quartet
  • Graham Wilkinson
  • Much Love
  • Henry + The Invisibles
  • Ruby Jane
  • Bus Stop Stallions
  • Riders Against the Storm
  • Calliope Musicals
  • Don Chani
  • Roxy Roca

It’s $20 at the door and there is food and beverages available for purchase. Bring a lawn chair or cushion to sit on in the stone amphitheater. This will be the most intimate setting you will have to see these bands this year.

Yam Jam This Sunday; Music Feeds the Homeless

For many years now the Austin technology community has been behind the annual Operation Turkey program, which feeds thousand of homeless in Austin (and around the country) every Thanksgiving. The main source of funding to buy the food comes from the Austin Yam Jam ticket sales ($15 pre-sale here) which is an incredible lineup of musicians every year. This year, the lineup features:

  • Van Wilks
  • Guy Forsythe
  • David Grissom
  • Lance Keltner
  • Malford Milligan
  • Dave Holt
  • Jake Andrews
  • Driver

There is also a signed guitar auction online. How would you like a signed guitar by Willie Nelson, or Eric Johnson? The highlight is a Jimmie Vaughn Signature Tex-Mex Strat signed by Jimmie himself. He is going to personalize it to the winning bidder.

When: Sunday, October 17th

Where: Threadgills South

How Much: $15 Pre-Sale or $20 at the door
