Spanning Cloud Apps, creators of the powerful, enterprise-class data protection solution “Spanning Backup for Google Apps”, announces that administrators can now monitor their Google Apps domains from their mobile devices with Audit Log for Google Apps. Spanning’s first mobile app alerts administrators when changes are made to their domain settings – allowing them to monitor their domains on the go and in real time.
Offered on both iOS via Apple’s App Store and Android via Google Play, Audit Log for Google Apps is a mobile version of Spanning’s popular Admin Audit Log Viewer. The app is free and available now for all users.
“Our mobile app enables administrators to have instant, active and deep access to the state of their domains from anywhere and on any device,” said Charlie Wood, CEO and founder of Spanning. “Cloud apps are no longer web-only, and Spanning is investing heavily in the cloud-plus-mobile future.”
Google Apps administrators can now monitor all changes made to their settings, audit actions by other administrators and review the history of all changes via an easy to use mobile interface. As an active monitor, administrators receive push notifications whenever any changes are made, enabling them to take necessary actions immediately.
Audit Log for Google Apps was initially created as a Spanning hack-a-thon project; two front-end developers recreated Admin Audit Log Viewer as a mobile app and the team discovered the new program added tremendous value to admins.
With Audit Log for Google Apps, users can track a broad set of domain changes on their mobile devices including new and deleted users, changes to user settings, changes to document permissions and other administrative actions taken on the entire Google Apps suite.
In March, Spanning announced a $6M Series B funding round and a co-marketing agreement with Mozy® by EMC®.
