Austin’s largest business technology event will launch the first annual Women of IT Summit during the Innotech Conference on November 8th, 2012.
Held at the Austin Convention Center, the InnoTech Conference & Expo presents educational seminars, special events and hands-on demonstrations while also recognizing outstanding achievement in technology and leadership.
Given the success of the 2011 Women of IT breakfast, InnoTech board members voted to extend this unique opportunity into a full day of engagement and activities specifically for women technology professionals. Among notable speakers of this year’s Being a Trail Blazer and Risk Taker summit are Adriana (Andi) Karaboutis, CIO of Dell, Maria Elena Duron, Chief Engagement Officer, buzz2Bucks, Catherine McGuinness, Author, Emperors’ Clothes and Karen W. Robinson, Executive Director, the Texas Department of Information Resources.
The Women of IT Summit Chair, Amanda Justice, states, “Our goal is to provide a platform for women in the technology field to come together for a day of networking, collaboration and growth. As so much of our workday is focused on internal corporate goals, this Summit offers a venue to branch out and share personal successes as well as lessons learned. Also, the Summit provides an avenue for women who seek opportunities in mentoring or coaching. This year, we are excited to host a specific program consisting of professional coaches and executive-level volunteers from the Austin business community who will be counseling Summit participants about their career journeys.”
The 2012 Women of IT Summit is hosted by Girlstart, the Association for Women in Computing, Austin Women in Technology and Leadership Austin. The event is sponsored by Cyrus One, Mobius Partners & Samsung. The summit will be open to all Innotech attendees.
