SXSW Launch :: Grouped{in}

You couldn’t walk a block at SXSW without seeing a T-shirt, mobile billboard, or twirling sign with the Grouped{in} logo on it. If last year was the battle of the location-based services at SXSW, then this year was the battle of the group messaging apps. If you attended the March Austin Tech Happy Hour, you got to see Grouped{in} up close and personal at their demo table. They were also kind enough to sponsor the Hurricane Party for Japan fundraiser.

groupedinGrouped{in} is the only mobile app that allows you to organize your work and personal life into the groups and people that matter to you and across the channels you already use. By simplifying group communications across multiple channels, including private in-app messaging, e-mail, SMS, phone Facebook, Twitter and more, Grouped{in} makes working in groups easy, efficient and fun. You can create your own relevant, private groups and communicate across multiple channels within the app.

After using the app during it’s beta period, and now in version 1.1 in the iTunes App Store, I can say that it’s been very handy to have all my methods of communication all focused into one app on my iPhone. But it’s also very easy to turn on/off each channel, even if temporarily, to focus on just my Twitter messages or my Facebook items.

As cool and useful as these apps are, keep in mind how new they are. This is still version 1 technology. Imagine the value as this app matures over time, adds new features, and improves based on user feedback. The future is indeed bright for Appconomy and Grouped{in}.
