New Milestone For Austin’s Tech Community

Today marks the beginning of a new era for AustinStartup, as we combine our efforts with Startup District to form a single and definitive resource for surfacing and navigating the startup ecosystem in Central Texas.

First and foremost we’ve got a new look, and many more people to bring you everything that is going on in the emerging technology community in Austin.

You’ll also notice that we have a great new crop of writers that will be contributing regularly to AustinStartup. We’re also bringing in all of the great the content from StartupDistrict, with much more in the works and on the way.

The bigger-picture goal in bringing together the efforts of Austin Startup and Startup District is to give our readers the best of both worlds, and the synergy, we hope, will provide fruitful. Our aim is to combine excellent editorial reportage with community tools and information sources that further our vision of a united and connected Austin.

There is still one thing missing: you.

We are actively soliciting guest posts from writers with expertise in many areas of the Austin tech community, from investing to to cleantech to gaming. Everyone has unique expertise to share, and we’d like to hear about yours.

We also actively want your news — we will agree to all embargoes, and we encourage you to submit to tips@austinstartup.com 2-3 days in advance of any announcement.  Stories we choose to pursue will thoroughly researched and fact-checked. You can read more about our editorial policy here.

Today we will have some great coverage of Capital Factory‘s Demo Day (#dd09), which will be streaming live in case you are not attending. We’ll also be reporting from Austin Tech Happy Hour (#athh), where the Capital Factory companies will have demo stations.

Thanks for your support!
